Yukon River Measuring 3018 km (1875 mi) long, the Yukon River is a major body of water running through Alaska and the Yukon Territory. The river was used to transport goods and passengers during the Klondike Gold Rush. Paddle-wheel boats were the main type of transportation on the river during the 1950s.
